Alone together
As is the canvas for a painter, the time is for music - that on which we unfold our art. And just as we can feel human connection to another epoch through music, we can also limit the timely distance to a few hours and meet.
In the light of the current crisis it is easy for concerting musicians to despair. To put it short, the absence of a live audience quickly leads to cravings for the magical energy projected from any live audience to us on stage. Not to mention the contact and inspiration from fellow musicians…
But seen from a positive side, the crisis forces us to think in new ways and of new possibilities - because the human desire for culture and comforting only increases in such situation!
In my opinion, our most important task as artists in general is to remind our audience of the beauty of being alive and of the spectrum of feelings to be felt. Even if it's only through a miniature of 30 seconds, a little musical comforting can mean a lot.
So if we cannot make music together, let us play Alone Together! A couple of times a week I will record new duos, trios or even quartets, in miniature or longer, with myself and publish them here on the website, on YouTube and on Facebook. And who knows - maybe I will be able to offer a live broadcast from time to time.
If you like this idea and would like to receive the new videos directly, you can subscribe to the e-mail list here, or you can subscribe to my YouTube channel here or follow me on Facebook here. If you like it very much and want to support a little, you can also make a donation here (and for possible tax discount you can also get a written thank you with a special extra video and a receipt).
And of course; if you could think of someone who might also like to receive news from me, please don’t hesitate to share this - that would make my day!
Let us take care of each other and be Alone Together - for me and for you!
With wishes of good health and lots of cheerfulness from your violinist online and offline,
Luiza Labouriau
